Major elements such as calcium, magnesium, sodium and potassium are essential nutrients in food and the routine monitoring of the levels of these elements in fruit juices is a common quality control process. Flame Atomic Absorption Spectroscopy (FAAS) is well suited to this application as it delivers the performance required for the analysis at a reasonable price.
